About Me
Growing up, I have always loved stories. It began with fantasy and mythology but as I grew, my love for stories transformed into hearing those of individuals. Everyone has their own unique story, and with that, their own unique goals. When thinking about the future, and what I wanted to do, I realized that I had a passion for helping others share their message. If I can make a difference by helping an individual build their brand and following so they can share their message, I feel successful. Im always looking for ways to improve myself to better achieve my goals and, through that, have a better understanding of others and what they may be going through.
Three years of working in customer service has helped me hone my problem solving skills and my ability to take charge in situations that need a sense of leadership. In March 2021, I began helping Ellie LeBar- a musician and friend- with building a following for her music. We have worked together to brainstorm marketing ideas and promotional content to build her brand. That August I began my studies at The University of Kansas where I major in Strategic Communications at the William Allen White School of Journalism. During my time in college I have had the opportunity to hone the skills I learned as a member of my high school journalism staff; It also gave me the opportunity to learn new skills pertaining to marketing and other areas I was not able to learn previously. I have not been afraid to get involved and joined a sorority my freshman year. As a member of Alpha Delta Pi, I have been able to hone my communication skills through participating in recruitment and have had opportunities to network with individuals I may not have had access to previously. My sophomore year I joined a student-run broadcast that is a part of KU’s Media Crossroads. Jayhawk Jukebox, a music and entertainment news based broadcast, has allowed me to express myself creatively and participate in my interests. After joining as a cast member in the fall of 2022, I went on to become an assistant producer in January 2023 and head producer a year later.
Coming from a musical family, I have always had a special connection to music. I believe it connects back to my love of storytelling and how music can mean something different to everybody. I try to surround myself with music when I can but enjoy participating in my other interests such as crafts and video games. As a member of Alpha Delta Pi, I have found a connection to volunteer work. Alpha Delta Pi works closely with the Ronald McDonald House to raise money and help at their houses. Being able to get involved and help with their mission has been a point of pride for me. Through my volunteer work, I have been able to see the difference I can make and aim to continue that into my future.
