Swade Simpson embraces his new ‘Glitter Boy’ aesthetic – a symbol of male vulnerability and a challenge of toxic masculinity, in his new single featuring Katelyn Butcher. Simpson and Butcher’s platforms around mental health awareness create a large overlap with their audiences and the single holds an air of openness.
Don’t Wanna Be Her is about changing and losing friends as you grow. With a blend of vulnerable, anxious, and honest lyrics paired with an energetic drop, Don’t Wanna Be Her sends a message to just let it all go.
With his freshman EP surpassing 300k streams on Spotify last fall, Simpson sets his sights on his next EP, Glitterboy. To keep active for his growing audience, Simpson will be releasing a new single every month leading up to Glitterboy’s January 2022 premiere.
